I am truly excited to serve the Arc of Bartholomew County as a Board Member! I look forward to bringing over 2 decades of experience in nonprofit management and policy to this role. I moved to Columbus in 2013 and, for over 10 years I have held my current position as the Grants and Data Compliance Manager at Turning Point.
I have also had the honor of being a Human Rights Commissioner for the City of Columbus since 2022 where I serve as Executive Committee Treasurer and Disability Liaison.
Before moving to Indiana, I held various direct service and administrative positions at nonprofits across the country, including in Southern California and Denver. My most important roles, however, have been wife to Philip since 2001, and mom to our four sons, Zander, Quinn, Kaleb, and Wyatt. Both Zander and Quinn were born severely prematurely weighing less than two pounds each.
Though Zander was able to catch up to his typical peers in early elementary school, Quinn has life-long special needs. As a result of this difficult start, he has anoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, which is the fancy doctor way of saying he has a brain injury due to lack of oxygen early on. He also has Cerebral Palsy, which affects his motor skills. He is delayed in all areas of development, some more than others. Though Quinn has special needs, it is not what defines him. It has been an honor to advocate for him as he grows into a young man.
I look forward to bringing this unique experience of parenting, combined with my professional skills, to the Arc to further its mission in the community.
