Part-Time Executive Director

Position Overview:
The Arc of Bartholomew County is seeking a dedicated and dynamic part-time Executive Director to lead our organization in advocating for and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves overseeing daily operations, driving strategic initiatives, managing staff, and representing the organization to stakeholders. The Executive Director will work collaboratively with the board of directors to fulfill The Arc’s mission of promoting inclusion and empowerment. Learn more about The Arc at thearcbc.org.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  

  • Provide overall leadership and management of The Arc’s programs, services, and initiatives.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with The Arc’s mission and vision.

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring sustainable growth.

  • Supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for The Arc in the community.

  • Cultivate relationships with community partners, donors, and stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and ethical standards.

  • Work closely with the board of directors to achieve organizational goals.

  • Maintain The Arc Center of Excellence (facility) for drop-in hours, maintenance needs, rentals and general up-keep.

Qualifications:

·        Familiarity with BDDS, Medicaid, Social Security, ADA and other disability benefit programs is highly preferred.  

·        At least 2 years experience working with individuals with intellectual  and developmental disabilities. 

·        Familiarity with tech platforms for social media, finance management, google drive

  • Proven leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with a diverse team.

  • Experience with budgeting, fundraising, and community engagement.

  • Passion for The Arc’s mission of advocating and empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Details:
~25 hours per week, evenings & weekends as needed, flexible schedule
